Professional Development for SL Interpreters & Deaf in Guatemala

Come earn 4.0 CEUs (paperwork pending) immersed in Guatemalan culture! This week-long adventure includes individualized (one-on-one) Spanish classes; a class on Guatemalan Sign Language (“Lensegua”); a visit to a Guatemalan school for the deaf; tours of chocolate, coffee and macadamia plantations; a boat excursion on Lake Atitlán; and presentations by Mayans on their traditions.
A typical day will start with language instruction in the morning, a tour in the afternoon interpreted by the participants (you), and reflection in the evening on the interpreting process.
